Rain on Wednesday followed by freezing temperatures that night resulted in this — my walkway and driveway turned into sheets of ice. I was tempted to break out the skates, but I had to get to work. Maybe next time.

We’ve had a few deaths this past week — my mother’s uncle, her cousin’s daughter, and her neighbor (my former bus driver). Three of the sweetest people you’d ever meet. I wasn’t particularly close to any of them, but all three were always ready with a smile and a soft-spoken cheerfulness every time I saw
The days are slowly getting longer, which means being able to catch the sunset after work. It’s nice to not have to walk out to pitch black at the end of the day.

We missed the US vs Russia Olympic hockey game this morning (but Go USA!). We supported USA Hockey in our own way, watching future players learn the game. It snowed again today.
